River Deep, Mountain High

Glee has subjected me to a world of music. On the episode where the club did duets, there was one song I had heard once years ago and had never really listened to, but was taken aback at how great it was momentarily. I forgot about it, that is until my friend started singing it nonstop a week ago. Now, I am absolutely completely obsessed. It's such a great song. Originally by Tina Turner, "River Deep, Mountain High" is a powerful ballad with incredible lyrics. I loved Glee's rendition of it, but the original is really fantastic. I've been singing it nonstop. For your enjoyment, I have posted the first few verses and the chorus. I highly recommend listening to it. It will blow your mind.

When I was a little girl I had a rag doll
Only doll I've ever owned
Now I love you just the way I loved that rag doll
But only now my love has grown

And it gets stronger in every way
And it gets deeper let me say
And it gets higher day by day

Do I love you my oh my
River deep mountain high yeah yeah yeah
If I lost you would I cry
Oh how I love you baby
Baby, baby, baby
