A Not So Typical Christmas

Due to our family vacation to the East Coast this holiday season, we weren't able to keep up many of our Hartman family traditions for Chrismas. For years we have always picked out a Christmas tree, decorated it, watched Christmas Family Vacation, and drove by to look at Christmas lights together as a family, but none of that happened this year. Also, it was my first Christmas away from home since I can remember. At first, I was disappointed because it didn't even feel like Christmas without our prized traditions but I came to realize that there is so much more to everyone's "favorite time of the year". You don't need traditions to get in the Christmas spirit, all you need is the people you love. The holidays are all about appreciating what you have no matter where you are. While our Christmas may have been different than usual, it was still Christmas all the same.

it is good that holidays aren't the same year after year; that way, they stand out in your memory.
