Homecoming Madness

It is starting to be that time of year again. The time of seeing girls walk around the campus with roses, holding balloons, expecting some sort of surprise in a number of classes, and huge posters displayed across the school. But why do we do this? Why do guys spend hours preparing to ask a girl to a dance. It is simply tradition. But this took an unexpected turn this week with a sign that simply said, " Homecoming Anyone?". This sign took the pressure off of guys to think of a creative way to ask someone. Students would walk out to the middle of the amphitheatre, hold up the sign, and wait for someone to come down and say they want to go to the dance with them. Seems easy and harmless, but administration felt that this was not allowed. So now it goes back to tradition, the roses, the balloons, and creative gestures.
