18 Game Regular Season for NFL?

Yes, the rumors are true. The NFL commisioner Roger Goodell wants to change the NFL regualr season and preseason schedule. He is proposong that the league should increase the regular season by 2 games and decrease the preseason by 2 games. Supposedly, this is a direct response to ranting fans wanting more NFL action. This also a method to increase advertising and commercial sales for the NFL. I find the idea a little stupid. I have always loved the NFL but it is really a simple-minded system. When you lose too many in the regular season you are out, when you lose any game in the post season, you are out as well. Maybe the NFL should change the playoff system to Round-Robin rather than increasing an already long regular season. Another alternative could be making the Super Bowl a three game series. This way, the real winner will be the undisputed champion gaining the edge of 2 out of 3 wins. Not only would the three game Super Bowl be fan friendly, but also increase the NFL's commercial income and advertising more effectivley then changing the regular season to 18 games. That would also make me feel like doing the Cupid Shuffle.
