VARSITY CHEER IS GETTING smaller.

Cheer has always had a big team with a lot of girls, who love to cheer, stunt, and dance. It makes routines look better with bigger formations and more stunt groups. However, this year is a little different for the Varisty Cheer Squad. We started with 20 girls. And now we are down to 17. This year practices have gotten longer and the routines and stunts have gotten harder, but it seems like girls just aren't as into it as they used to be. We lost two teammates at the same time, who claimed to have injuries, which was really an excuse to leave. This week once again we lost another cheerleader, who said that cheer just took up to much time and it was affecting her school work, which was just another excuse to quit. It's funny that 17 other girls are able to keep up good grades and even have the time to work. I think it is rude that people try out and quit not even half way through the year. Now the season is ruined for the rest of the team because we have to switch up stunt groups and work people into new positions, which is hard to do once you finally get comfortable somewhere. Now instead of getting better at practice we just have to waste time starting back at the basics.

You bring up key questions, most importantly the role of committment and teamwork.
