It is incredibly rare that a student dies in the Rocklin School district, but it's happened multiple in the past two years and the administration still seems to be fumbling with what to do.
Not to say that what happened to Peter isn't incredibly tragic. I think the administration did a much better job handling this death than any previous one.
But what about a boy who went to our school? When John Perkins committed suicide last year, the administration didn't say one single word about it. They tried to tell us that is was his parents wishes, but that's not what some of his closest friends were saying. Nichols brought up the fact that maybe the administration had learned from their mistakes, but something tells me that just isnt the case. I still feel like the way John's death was handled was innappropriate and a little unfair.

I agree that the administration was in the wrong last year when they didn't even address John's death. Ignoring a death is definately the wrong way to go about handling it, but the way that was handled is in the past now, and they did the right thing when the recognized Peter. I would like to at least give the admin a chance.
Wow. They completely ignored a suicide. Geeze, and I thought school administration was bad before. That is just utterly pathetic.
