weird sea animals

So I was on reddit the other day and there was an askreddit of "what mythological creatures do you think actually exist?" And that lead me to endless wikipedia articles on really, really weird and big sea creatures that we probably thought were monsters at one point.

Like the colossal squid, that is like 1,000 pounds or something like that or even bigger. And they hunt like whales and stuff. And then also weird stuff about how there is this squid that has its esophagus run through its donut-shaped brain. So if it didn't chew enough, it could damage its brain and die. Like really?!?!

And how the Bermuda triangle is actually caused by like underground methane vents that, when released, are actually powerful enough to mess with currents and the quality of air when planes fly above it.

And then there is this hype about that immortal jellyfish. What?

And Portuguese men-of-war. They're like multiple organism jellyfish, and just hook up so they can float along and sting the crap out of innocent bystanders like me. That is probably my worst fear. That and camel spiders. They're huge and I'm pretty sure they can run faster than us. Gawd.
