High School Halloween

Remember back in the day when Halloween meant dressing up as ghosts, clowns, witches and ninja turtles, all with the intention of having the best costume in class? Dinnertime came and it was the least you could do to nibble at your food (to your mom's dismay), just so you would still have an appetite for candy? Finally, when it seemed like it couldn't come any sooner, the sun sets, the streets become dark and it is "go-time". Making the treacherous climbs up steep driveways, and screaming "TRICK OR TREAT" may seem horribly unbearable, but watching the free candy drop into the pumpkin buckets, pillowcases and paper bags, brings a type of thrill like no other.

To tell the truth, we all know this excitement ended 3 or 4 years ago...

Times have changed, and the game of Halloween is completely different than it used to be. Girls use the day as an excuse to dress like sluts. And the guys? They use the day as an excuse to look at the girls who dress like sluts. Our sweet Cinderella dresses have evolved into Little Red Riding Hood bras and skirts, that are half way up the 'you know what'. Ladies, I don't want to see your assets hanging out everywhere. And guys, stop acting like pigs.

Let's move on from holiday attire to holiday festivities. Well some may still go trick or treating (who doesn't want free candy?), the majority of the high school population are out partying all night long. I don't even need to discuss what goes on at the parties...

I'm not trying to bag on Halloween, I'm just more of a Christmas and 4th of July person. So this weekend ladies and gentlemen, have some class, be mature and please be safe.....Happy Halloween :-)
