Steve Job's Final Words
The story in the link is about a Steve Job's sister, Mona Simpson, describing Job's last words on his death bed. His last words surprisingly were "Oh wow, oh wow, oh wow". Simpson read his words in his eulogy during Job's funeral. In my opinion the writer did a good job on the article because its a cool topic that pulls your heart strings and is kinda nice to know. The article was pretty short but its good length since there wasn't a whole lot else to write about.
I'm weird.
A few days ago during class, I was sitting there tuning out the monotone droan of my teacher's lecture, and I realized something. I'm weird. The more I think about it, the more I realize I am definitely not like every other teenage girl. Let me explain a little...
First off, I love girly things: shopping, clothes, make up, jewelry, chick flicks, anything you can think of. I spend an hour getting ready in the morning, and I have more shoes than the capacity of my closet, and I read fashion magazines over the newspaper. My nails are always painted and I'm always after the new designer bag.
Here comes the catch. One 0f my favorite things in life is sports. Football, baseball, hockey, UFC, I don't care what it is but I love it! For the past 12 years I have played soccer basically my entire life, and I play on a comp team. I'm a die hard San Francisco Giants, San Jose Sharks, and Minnesota Vikings fan. One of the happiest days of my life was when the Giants won the World Series. During football season, my Sundays involve my butt on the couch all day. Not only to watch the Vikings, but every other team playing to watch my players for my Fantasy Football team. And in case any of you are wondering, no, I'm not one of those girls who Google what a strikeout or a touchdown is so they can impress all the guys. My bedroom walls are filled with Adrian Peterson posters, autographed hockey jerseys and so much more.
Along with my girly side, and my athletic side, there also comes a nerdy side. I have had straight A's my entire life and will never settle for anything less. Math is my aboslute favorite subject, and I actually don't mind doing the homework. I spend my weekend mornings and afternoons playing Scrabble with my dad. I wear glasses, I read my horoscope every day and I love watching game shows on TV.
I could write an entire essay on how different I am, but I'm a little worried if too many people read this I won't have any friends anymore. So we will leave it at this :-)

High School Halloween
Remember back in the day when Halloween meant dressing up as ghosts, clowns, witches and ninja turtles, all with the intention of having the best costume in class? Dinnertime came and it was the least you could do to nibble at your food (to your mom's dismay), just so you would still have an appetite for candy? Finally, when it seemed like it couldn't come any sooner, the sun sets, the streets become dark and it is "go-time". Making the treacherous climbs up steep driveways, and screaming "TRICK OR TREAT" may seem horribly unbearable, but watching the free candy drop into the pumpkin buckets, pillowcases and paper bags, brings a type of thrill like no other.
To tell the truth, we all know this excitement ended 3 or 4 years ago...
Times have changed, and the game of Halloween is completely different than it used to be. Girls use the day as an excuse to dress like sluts. And the guys? They use the day as an excuse to look at the girls who dress like sluts. Our sweet Cinderella dresses have evolved into Little Red Riding Hood bras and skirts, that are half way up the 'you know what'. Ladies, I don't want to see your assets hanging out everywhere. And guys, stop acting like pigs.
Let's move on from holiday attire to holiday festivities. Well some may still go trick or treating (who doesn't want free candy?), the majority of the high school population are out partying all night long. I don't even need to discuss what goes on at the parties...
I'm not trying to bag on Halloween, I'm just more of a Christmas and 4th of July person. So this weekend ladies and gentlemen, have some class, be mature and please be safe.....Happy Halloween :-)

why?
Religion is a touchy subject. Even just typing the word evokes sudden thoughts of prejudice. This one single idea has caused so many schisms, strife, and hatred in the world. Isn't religion suppose to be a refuge for people seeking something to believe and have faith in? To the spiritually right, religion was never intended for that.
I think of it as a personal entity. Something that gives the indivudal hope of something greater in the future. It gives people the strength to live their life morally correct.
To me, religion is this elusive bridge between your reality and what you believe. Its your OWN. Religion gives you power to do what you believe in. The choices and decisions you make for your belief are all up to you.
Okay, now why blog about something as random as religion?
I am a Buddhist and know that I will always be a Buddhist. But, somehow to friends
close to me, that isn't good enough. My belief, they say, is not valid. It doesn't correspond with what they believe in and so it's "non-existance". I always hold my tongue but I just want to burst out screaming, "It's what I believe! This is who
I am! Get over it."
Isn't that hard to just let me be? To let me live my life without having to make me question myself? Religion is my personal refuge. Yet, for the past few years, their religious fervor has clouded this sacred belief that I have.
All I have to say is just leave me be. Don't try to convert me, don't try to force me into finding the greater being of some other religion, and don't force to me to find your so-called god.
I have my beliefs. Deal with it.
(just needed to rant... thanks)

Best Friend?
Last time I checked, a best friend is supposed to be someone who is there for you no matter what, who listens to you and cares about your problesm. Oh, and someone who is happy for you when your life is going good. That's what I have problems with. Why is it that whenever the rest of my life is great, my best friend cannot be happy for me? It seems for the last couple weeks we have had the same continuous arguement over and over again. This never-ending cycle is getting on my last nerves and I cannot help but feel betrayed.
Whining and blaming me for your problems is not something I appreciate, nor will I tolerate. So when you decide you are over it, I'll be here. But apologizing for something that I do not do is ridiculous.
So what is a best friend, and how hard are they to come by? Apparently very hard.

Stress
I find my self being more stressed lately, which is strange because i've never been the person to stress out. Even last year during the crazy that is AP world i never really stressed. Or when i ran varsity for the first time for Cross Country, no real stress. But this year Stress seems to becoming more and more common. During Cross Country, I ususally don't stress very much over racfes and well because of it but this year it seems i can't help but stress over everything. My classes are more difficult but not etremely more difficult then before. Stress is a very strange thing.
