I thought of more differences between Pennsylvania and California that I forgot to write down yesterday.
7. There is not as much privacy among neighbors because there are no fences between houses/yards.
8. People sit on their porches and socialize more...it seems that everybody knows everybody or the business of their towns.
9. Houses have basements which are a much cooler (temperature wise) place to be.
10. Air conditioning is not as common and houses windows and doors are frequently left open to let the air through.
11. The humidity is wretched. For those of you who thought that my hair was crazy before, you should see it after you add some humidity into the equation.
12. The gas is cheaper, and frequently people leave there car doors unlocked both at home and in parking lots.
13. They lack authentic Mexican dining places as well as latino music stations.
I'm sure over the course of my month stay, of which I have two weeks left, I will encounter more differences.

PA vs. CA
Let me start off with a little background here. I was born on May 20, 1992 in Butler Pennsylvania. You have probably never heard of it but it is relatively close to Pittsburg aka where the Steelers play (Superbowl champs baby!!! ohhhh yeah!!!). Long story short I live with you guys in Rocklin California and my mom lives in Mars Pennsylvania, no joke. Mars is an actual place. I am here for the first month of summer vacation. Usually I go to PA one week over Christmas break and for six weeks in the summer. I am experiencing a bit of culture shock...not too bad because I do come here every single year, but a bit. This is because of some of the main differences between the two:
1. Things are a whole lot greener. And there are a lot of trees and nature along the road.
2. Speaking of nature along the road there is a lot of road kill and when you are driving you must be careful not to hit creatures.
3. You have to pay more attention when you drive especially when turning left. A left turning light may be green; however you do not have the right away and there is still on-coming traffic heading your way. Also not all stop signs come with limit lines.
4. Society does not emphasize health quite as much. There are no Jamba Juices or smoothie places in general, frozen yogurt places (that one makes me want to cry), and most salads are made out of iceburg lettuce.
5. There are tanning places and nail salons, but definitely not as many.
6. Dialect. People here don't have extremely strong accents but they do talk differently (and thats not a bad thing...just an observation)
These are some of the differences I have noticed. I love PA and CA but deep down I think I'm a Cali girl.

AHHH!
I cant believe it! I had to take a test yesterday on a book I barely read. Whoops! I have been too stressed out to pick up a book and read it for a while. I thought that I could wing the exam just like previous ones, but this test was HARD. Hopefully it doesnt make me get a B in english, I will die! Especially when I have had an A all year long. Oh well, hopefully everything turns out and I PASS the test!
Last blog of this school year!
Ok, so it's my last blog of this school year... I've procrastinated on doing it, but I guess I do have a lot to say... First of all, I'm so thankful it's almost summer vacation! Since my AP test, I haven't been so motivated in my classes. Especially in AP US where nothing matters anymore because it won't help on the AP test obviously and it won't affect my grade. But as of yesterday I'm done with AP US!
This summer I'm going to be very busy. Besides all my summer homework, it's all going to be fun stuff. I hope that I'm not too lazy this summer and I don't just spend all my free time on facebook. But that shouldn't be too hard since I have so much going on. I have a family reunion, helping w/ Breakaway prep (Breakaway is a vacation bible school on steroids with over 20,000 kids signed up), leading a group at Breakaway, possible being a camp counselor at a 5th/6th grade camp, houseboats (week long summer camp on Shasta Lake!), and a few other things! I'm excited!
Next year I'm going to be a senior! It's awesome, but also kinda weird! Recently, it's been hitting me that I only have 1 more year until I start a totally different stage of my life! I hope to make the most of my senior year. One of my goals is too not get too caught up in grades and applying to college. That stuff is important but there is definitely more to life than school. And sometimes I need to remind myself that. But for now, it's almost vacation! Yay!

YAYYYYY !
This past weekend Ashley and I enjoyed our weekend in Disneyland. We drove on Friday right after the Sr Rally. I slept the entire way !
We went to Disneyland all day Saturday and Sunday. It was very fun and barely any people were there. It was a nice way to get a way for the weekend. We went on basically every ride and the weather was perfect. I am so glad that I am going again soon because I am so obsessed with Disney. We ever looked for some crazy hats for Mad Hatter Monday for Homecoming week.
Confusion
So im a bit frusterated with this work deal. I got my shift covered and everything, went to Disneyland thinking my shift was covered... but no. Of course I get a voicemail saying that no one showed up, so its my fault. : Apparently when I said "next weekend" that means "2 weekends" because thats what I told the girl who was going to cover for me. So now my boss is a little frusterated, as am I, because no one was there on Saturday. Oops.
Bye Bye Junior Year
This is probably going to be the last blog I ever do for Journalism II. I'm sad to say that I wont be taking it again next year. I'm really gonna miss it my Senior year.
This year has actually gone by really fast, with the exception of this last month that just keeps going on and on. We only have two mini days left, but it feel like its going to take an eternity to get over with.
I'm so excited for this school year to end and get on with my summer. Senior year is going to be great and I absolutely can't wait.
Hope you all have a great summer! See ya around next year!

the final countdown.
THREE MORE DAYS of the worst year of my life. I'm ecstatic. AND I got an A in French even though I didn't think I could! So my life is looking up right now. After Saturday, I'll be able to breath again. For 3 months :)
I love it.
It's weird that the school year is almost over, I haven't been able to savor any of the "last" of anything because I still have hw to do, but it's been in the back of my mind.
Tomorrow is the last full day which makes me really happy, but kinda sentimental as well because I actually thoroughly enjoy silver days, maybe it's the people, maybe it's the classes, but silver days are just so much more enjoyable. They always have been every year since freshman year, so hopefully the trend continues next year. My last year here.
It's really weird seeing the seniors for 'the last time' and all that... RHS won't be the same without them at all. I have no idea what I'm going to do without them. Because the sophomores can't be as much fun as they are, so we'll see. No offense sophomores.
Well I'm going to go read a book that I have to write a book review on, but none of this is phasing me because i only have 3 more days left of this nonsense :)
